Your Favorite Scents Aren’t Retired, They’re Rebooted
While Bath and Body Works boasts the ability to purchase retired frangrances through their website, one Redditor who claims to have worked for the company shared that many of the company’s signature scents are rebranded and sold under new names. According mooman89:
I worked for the biggest MAST (the company that owns Bath and Body Works and is a division of L Brand) contractor in Virginia for 8 years. There are sooo many fragrances that are rebranded and recolored to a different flavor. Fragrance oil is absolutely 100% the most expensive part of any shower gel or foaming soaps we made. Odds are they have hundreds of thousands of pounds of these oils in warehouses all over the US, so they just rebrand it as something else. It’s not like they are going to scrap it.

To Really Get Your Money’s Worth At Chipotle, You’re Better Off Ordering A Bowl
Chipotle servers revealed that to get the best bang for your buck, their bowls are the way to go. The taco shells and burrito tortillas hold much less food than the bowl, and you can always order tortillas on the side and stuff them yourself.
Additionally, some servers may give customers a full serving of two meats when they ask for half and half meats. While the guacamole will still be extra, burrito bowls ensure that Chipotle lovers get the most food for their money.

Mechanics Turn Their Noses Up At Camaros, Range Rovers, And Cadillacs
Vehicles are big investments, so it makes sense that consumers want to ensure that they are getting the perfect combination of durability, comfort, safety, and value for their money. While some may assume buying a luxury vehicle equates to a better product, mechanics turn their noses up at Camaros, Range Rovers, and Cadillacs. According to Car Pages’ Ben Mirecki:
In the most recent list of the most reliable cars by Consumer Reports, Cadillac was dead last and it consistently ranks in the bottom two or three, year after year.
Similarly, Deepesh Chauhan of Car Indigo states:
In the race between American muscle cars, the Camaro has lost out to all other rivals in a big way… Things have gotten so bad for the Camaro that GM will be pulling the plug on the vehicle by 2022… Faulty steering column wiring, early coolant leaks, engine blowing off, and plenty of other severe issues are being reported by owners.
And when it comes to Range Rovers, Auto Accessories Garage‘s Jake McKenzie reports:
[Range Rover] is notorious for having frequent mechanical problems and above-average repair costs… Insurance rates higher than the national average make this vehicle one of the biggest money pits in the automotive world.

McDonald’s French Fries Are Flavored With Beef
Fast food lovers may have noticed that McDonald’s french fries hold a distinct flavor that many believe makes them superior to the fried potato standard in the industry. This is because the restaurant uses one not-so-secret ingredient that sets them apart: beef flavoring.
The unintentionally smart business move started in the 1950s, when the company that supplied McDonald’s with their cooking oil didn’t have the funds to hydrogenate it. Rather than accept a shorter shelf-life for their fries, the supplier opted for a blend of beef fat and oil. Though McDonald’s now uses hydrogenated soybean oil, the company also adds in beef flavoring (with traces of milk and wheat) to continue providing their customers with the distinctly addictive flavor.

5Many Cheaper Gemstones Actually Look Prettier Than The Expensive Ones
Gemstone lovers who want a more ethical and sustainable way to shop for jewelry can rely on lab-grown diamonds as a sparkling alternative to their mined counterparts.
According to Brilliant Earth, manmade options are equally vibrant and carry the same chemical, optical, and physical properties of mined stones. One Redditor who claims to have worked in jewelry stores echoed these sentiments when it comes to picking more affordable stones:
I used to work in jewelry. Most of the prettiest gemstones are also very affordable. Tanzanite is a beautiful purple and looks nicer than amethyst. Topaz comes in lots of colors, including a pretty blue color which can be as nice as aquamarine. Opals aren’t as brightly rainbow hued as they look in pictures… Diamonds are lovely, but price wise you can get a nicer moissanite. I would go with the latter.

6Restaurant Chefs Use Way More Butter Than You Probably Think
Ever noticed how restaurant food somehow tastes more decadent and flavorful than the exact same dish made from scratch at home? While most recipes call for a tablespoon or two of butter to add flavor with minimal sticking to pans, restaurant chefs have no issue throwing in much, much more.
According to the late Anthony Bourdain, the average restaurant dish contains half a cup, or an entire stick, of butter. Those trying to stick to a healthy eating plan may want to ask for their meals to be steamed or boiled as an alternative.

One Country Won’t Let Subway Legally Call Its Rolls Bread
According to the Irish Supreme Court, even the marketed healthier versions of Subway’s rolls don’t stand up to the country’s nutrition standards to be considered bread. Whether ordering a regular or whole grain encased sub, the sugar content of the rolls is too high to be considered bread.
Because Ireland passed the Value-Added Tax (VAT) Act in 1972, restaurants are taxed on their foods depending on the variety. While Subway argued that their sandwiches shouldn’t be taxed as much because bread is a “staple food,” Ireland doesn’t believe their sandwiches contain bread at all. A spokesperson for the sandwich chain spoke out on the issue, stating,
Subway’s bread is, of course, bread. We have been baking fresh bread in our restaurants for more than three decades and our guests return each day for sandwiches made on bread that smells as good as it tastes.
